The 55th Governor of Louisiana and the Rolex Submariner Date have two things in common. They have been able to build success stories very early in life and have set new standards in their respective fields. In 1999 Jindal was appointed as the youngest president of the University of Louisiana System. In 2001, the then president George W. Bush appointed him as Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services for Planning and Evaluation. Bobby Jindal began serving the senate from July 9, 2001. He was also the political policy advisor to the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Despite losing the 2003 election for Louisiana Governor Jindal became a prominent figure amongst Louisiana residents. The following week after elections Jindal decided to run for Louisiana’s 1st Congressional district. He received complete endorsement from the Louisiana Republican Party. Jindal managed to raise a stupendous $1 million at a very early stage in the campaign and it came as no surprise when he won the 2004 election with 78% of the vote. Jindal was popular with the crowd and his state people, and he was appointed to the House Committee on Resources and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. Bobby was also made the Vice-Chairman of the House Subcommittee on the Prevention of Nuclear and Biological Attacks.
Jindal was a favorite from the very start when he announced his candidacy for governor in 2007. He routed eleven opponents which also included two Democrats sweeping a good 54%votes in the nonpartisan blanket primary. He won a total of 60 out of the 64 parishes of the Louisiana state and assumed charges as the Governor of Louisiana on January 14, 2008. Jindal was only 36 years old then. Bobby also happens to be the state’s first non-white governor.
Bobby Jindal was also instrumental in supervising one of the largest evacuations of US history prior to the Hurricane Gustav hitting his state. Jindal activated a 3000 National Guardsman force to aid in the process of transporting the residents to safer areas. Speculation was rife that Jindal will be chosen as a nominee for the Republican Vice- Presidential campaign in 2008 and the who’s who of the American political world see Bobby Jindal as a potential candidate for the 2012 Presidential election.
